I love using Benjamin Moore for my projects and here’s a great video by BM revealing the color trends of 2014. Enjoy!
What’s NOT to Love?
The solid wood counter top is absolutely jaw dropping! It provides the Wow factor to a minimalist space by creating an ideal focal point. The natural color of wood, grains and texture along with live edge bring so much character to this clean lined kitchen. Sometimes just one great element is enough to bring a space to life.
Add Color to your Black & White Life….You only live once after all!
Life is short…Allow Happiness in!
And that’s how a designer makes something out of nothing!
What most of us consider trash, is the basic material with which Derek Gores creates his masterpieces. His Collage work consists of recycled magazines, labels and other scrap materials skillfully used on canvas…. Here are some of his works. For more visit his website.
When you have some old ugly frames, this is what you do. Prime and slap some color of your choice and give it a new life.
I just colored mine white and Red and Orange using left over paint from previous projects. You can buy oops paints from Home Depot or Lowes and do the same. Sometimes paint won’t brush on smoothly on resin frames, just use primer first to give the paint a surface to hold onto. Or let the strokes show and sand it later, adds a bit of rustic character…
My succulent pots are growing in nos. Nothing better than re purposing all the used food jars and tins to plant these babies. I tried using different shapes & sizes of containers and they all look so pretty!
So earlier this week i posted some examples of how to use color in a space. If that blew your mind, look what i have in store for you today.
The Neutrals! Yes, nothing too bright or razzmatazz…these neutrals are Timeless, Elegant and just a class apart.
The amazing play of Scale, Tone, Texture, Rhythm and Repitition
Olioboard is such a fun and useful website for Interior Design enthusiasts. Unlike other programs, one does not have to be trained extensively to use this tool. Just pick a space and start adding furniture and accessories of your choice to create A 2D- or 3D moodboard! Olioboard has a huge library of inventory available to choose from. Once you’re happy with your creation, it is so easy to work an estimate of the items that were used to design the room, and even easier to communicate the design to a contractor or indulge in a little DIY ! You only spend a little time and a lot of your own imagination!
Here are some of my own Olioboards !

Arabesque tile is here to stay!
The curvi linear forms along with sharp angles give the tile an artistic and ornate look. Available in a wide variety of colors and glazes, it looks great both in horizontal as well as vertical planes. They break the monotony of regular rectangular or square tiles and remain classic through changing trends. Here are some finishes to give an idea. Most of them have a premium $$$ amount attached to them but home depot’s online store also carries a small range of these tiles at a more affordable price.
What a gorgeous wall!
Architects “Jane Kim Design” did such a fine job by introducing patina-ted copper panels that match with the mirror, onto the entire wall, enhancing and expanding the character and beauty of the mirror. And oh! By the way, the mirror was bought from an architectural salvage store! How awesome is that?
Beauty can not be confined within high end stores…You only need to expand your horizon and put your thinking cap on!
Splash some color into a monochromatic room and watch the space come alive! Bold color accents on a neutral color palette along with black and white geometric prints make any space look modern and chic. Here are a few examples that reflect this style tip. So just transform any boring space by adding bits of your favorite pop color!
This must be the most gorgeous color palette I’ve come across! Clearly inspired by nature-The sand, stone and sea….The neutral tones of sand and stone look great providing a backdrop to a more dominant yet calming turquoise. Read more at ELLE
